Wilma Jean Disinger Peterson, 86, of Delphi, passed away Monday-April 21, 2025, at 6:23pm, at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. Wilma was born on August 4, 1938, in Lafayette, to the late Paul & Helen Voorhees Disinger. Wilma married Donald L. Peterson, at the Delphi Christian Church, on August 12, 1961, and he survives. Wilma graduated from Flora High School in 1956 and received her RN degree from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lafayette. Wilma worked in private practice family healthcare for Doctor's Petry, Baker, & Doggett, in Delphi for many years. She then worked for Dr. McTavish in Rossville for several years before retiring from nursing. Wilma was baptized at the former Flora Church of the Brethren and attended the Delphi Christian Church. Wilma enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and putting out a big garden to share its abundance with her family, neighbors and friends. She loved to work in her yard and keep her flowers beds manicured just right. She loved to bird watch and take care of the feeders around her property, especially the hummingbirds. She enjoyed vacations in Florida, walking on the beach and fishing with her family. She loved to play cards and games with her family and grandchildren. Wilma dearly loved her family and being with them for any occasion. They were her life. Surviving: husband-Donald L. "Don" Peterson of Delphi, son-Mark & Beth Peterson of Fountaintown, son-Brad L. Peterson of Delphi, grandchildren: Eric & Morgan Peterson, Kathryn & Dana Vissing, great grandson Corbin Peterson. Preceded in death by a son Michael, an infant sister. Services: The family will receive friends on Friday from 4pm until her celebration of life service at 6pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Pastor Dan Gottschalk officiating. Private family interment at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Musselman Cemetery, envelopes available at the funeral home.
