Obituary

Wilda Kathryn Reed Glenn, 96, formerly of Butler, PA, died Monday-Nov. 28, 2016 at 4:40am at her son's home in Delphi. She was born Apr 1, 1920 in Kittanning, PA, to the late Frank & Martha Daughtery Reed. Her marriage was to Clair A. Glenn at her parents home in Kittanning, on Aug 12, 1950, and he preceded her in death on Mar 9, 2013. She spent her adult life in Butler, PA, and moved to Delphi 3 1/2 years ago, to be with her son. She was a 1938 graduate of Kittanning High School. She received her RN degree from Indiana Hospital School of Nursing; Indiana, PA. She worked as an RN for the Butler Memorial Hospital, in Butler, PA. She was a WW II Navy Veteran, Lieutenant JG, stationed in Bethesda, MD and Washington State, working in military hospital's. She was a longtime and active member of First Baptist Church of Butler, and while living in Delphi, she attended her son's church, First Baptist Church of Delphi. She was active with her local March of Dimes chapter. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and volunteering at her church. She dearly loved her family and the time they spent together. Surviving: daughter-Mary & Rev. James Woodburn of Richmond, VA; son-Rev. William "Bill" & Debbie Glenn of Delphi; brother-Thomas Reed of Parma Heights, OH; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by 3 sister's and 3 brother's. Services: Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Services in Butler, PA, as follow: Friends may call Friday from 10am until her funeral service at 12pm at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E North St., Butler, PA 16001. Rev. Dave Maitland officiating, burial with Military graveside rites at Greenlawn Burial Estates & Mausoleum, Butler, PA.
