Obituary

Wayne Allen Seramur, 80, died Thurs-May 18, 2017 at 7:40pm, at Monticello Healthcare Center, where he had been a resident for 5 weeks. He was born Feb 16, 1937 in Gary, IN, to the late Wayne & Leisel Seramur. He was a 1955 graduate of Crown Point High School. His 1st marriage was to Judith A. Lamphier on June 27, 1957 in Crown Point, and she preceded him in death on Aug 14, 1993. Al lived for 25 years in Delphi. He enjoyed fishing & boating on Lake Freeman, and his fishing trips to Canada with family and friends.  He worked for DeFouw Chevrolet in Lafayette as the heavy duty truck division service manager for over 25 years, retiring from there. He then moved to Fort Myers, Florida where he lived for the past 19 years. He  married Mary Lou Melcher on Jan 10, 2003 in Fort Myers, FL, and she survives.  While living in Fort Myers, he and his wife were very active with their church, Faith United Methodist Church, and especially enjoyed "game day activities". They were active in their residential community, Kelly Green Golf & Tennis, where Al loved to play golf. He loved his dog Jake. Surviving: wife-Mary Lou Seramur of Carmel; daughters-Suzanne Hughes of Lafayette, Michele Arthur (husband Stephen) of Lafayette; son-Jeff Seramur of Delphi; sisters-Nancy Price (husband Claude) of Estero, FL, Linda Seramur of Potsdam, NY; stepsons-Greg Cooper (wife Tracy), Brian Cooper (wife Wendy) of Carmel; grandchildren-Chelsea, Christina, Zach, Kelly, Spencer, Casey & Keaton; great grandson-Jayden; step-grandchildren- Jesse, Morgan, & Jack. Preceded in death by a son Ed; brother Steve. Services. Please join the family in celebrating Al's life on Tuesday-May 23, from 5-7pm, at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi.  Due to Al's love of the outdoors, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Tecumseh, for camp scholarships for those in need, envelopes available at the funeral home. http://www.abbottfuneralhome.com/
