Virginia Louise Long Pearson, 85, formerly of Carroll County, died Saturday-January 16, 2021 at her daughter's home in Vero Beach, FL.
She was born June 27, 1935 in Hoopeston, IL, to the late Raymond & Maxine Anthony Long. Her marriage was to Donald K. Pearson Sr, in Indiana, on September of 1953, and he preceded her in death November 8, 2018. She graduated from Greer High School in Hoopeston. She worked at the former Gerber-Globe Valve Corp in Delphi, for 30 years retiring from there. She enjoyed her big garden, and sharing all the good things she would raise with family and friends. She and her family spent a lot of time on Lake Monroe, camping, fishing, and boating, enjoying the outdoors', and spending time with her family around the campfire. And in the winter months, she enjoyed snowmobile riding with her family and neighbors. She and her husband raised horses and Chow dogs. She was always rescuing dogs from shelters, and supported them in their ongoing plight to care for those animals. She loved her dog Kasey, and the good company she gave her. Virginia dearly loved her family and grandchildren, and being together with them. Surviving: daughters-Debra & Richard Vaughn of Vero Beach, FL, Tracy & Joe Fassnacht of Battle Ground, Becky & Doug Draper of Delphi; son-Donnie K. Pearson Jr of Delphi. 8 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by a sister Norma Hall. Private family graveside services will take place Friday, burial at Zion Citizens Cemetery, Flora. Memorial contributions to the donor's favorite animal shelter or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
