Trudy E. Pearson Chapman, 76, formerly of Delphi, passed away Wednesday-June 17, 2026, at 10:39am, at Santa Rosa Health & Rehab in Milton, FL. Trudy was born on March 12, 1950, in Lafayette, to the late Charles & Florence Smith Pearson. She married Thomas D. Chapman in Delphi, on May 19, 1972, and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2015. Trudy attended Delphi High School and received her GED and received her certificate from Ivy Tech in medical coding. She previously worked at the former Gerber-Globe Valve Corp in Delphi for 28 years, then for Purdue University in the horticulture department for several years, retiring from there. She loved to bowl and enjoyed cake decorating and cooking for her family. She loved all kinds of music, crossword puzzles, and decorating her house for whatever holiday was in season. Trudy was an avid dog lover, having many in her life, she loved and cared for them all. She dearly loved her family and being together with them always put a smile on her face. Surviving: daughter-Jodi E. Acosta of Pensacola, FL, son-Andy & Kristie Lewis of Delphi, son-Colt Chapman of Ft. Walton, FL, 6 grandchildren, & 3 great grandchildren survive. A special friend-Joyce Gibson of Flora. Preceded in death by 2 brothers & 2 sisters. Services: The family will receive friends Friday-July 3, 2026, from 4pm until her funeral service at 6pm, at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Pastor Bruce Hankins officiating. Private family burial will be at Zion Cemetery, rural Delphi. Memorial contributions may be made to Natalie’s Second Chance Dog Shelter, 10 S. 16th St., Lafayette, IN 47905.
