Tanya Kay Harmon, 68, of rural Cutler, passed away unexpectedly Monday-July 29, 2024, at 8:45pm at her home. She was born November 10, 1955, in Peru, to the late Harold Gordan & Shelia Shipman Gordan. Her stepfather Melvin Harmon helped raise her. Her marriage was to Dr. William Lee Irwin, in Cancun, Mexico, on March 10, 1999, and he survives. Tanya graduated from Logansport High School in 1974. She graduated with her RN degree from Indiana University Kokomo in 1991, and later received her bachelor's degree (BSN) in nursing as well. Tanya worked at the former Wilson's Foods in Logansport now Tyson's and started her nursing career at Methodist & Indiana University Hospitals in Indianapolis, working in the NICU and Neonatal units, from 1991 to 2018. She was very involved with the families and babies she took care of. Following their progress for many years after. She belonged to the Nursing Honor Society. She and her husband loved to travel in their motorhome and camping. She was an awesome cook and baker, sharing her goodies with her family was always special. She loved her many fur babies she always had at their home. She enjoyed gardening and her flower beds. Her greatest love was for her family. She dearly loved them all, especially her grandchildren. Attending their sporting and school functions, or just hanging out for any occasion was always a special time for them all. Surviving: husband-Dr. William Lee Irwin of Cutler, daughter-Sandy Flenar Rivera of Fishers, daughter-Erica Irwin of Fishers, son-William "Bill" Irwin of CA, grandson-Chase Rivera, granddaughter-Samantha Pantoja, brother-Rick & Debbie Smith of Boynton Beach, FL, sister-Melody Williams of Sun City, CA. Preceded in death by a son Tyson Harmon, half-sister Kathy Yates. There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life service will take place at a later date to be announced.
