Shirley A. Viney Ziemer, 76, of Sun City Center, FL, died Wednesday-Nov 7, 2018 at 1:26am in Sun City Hospice House, in Ruskin, FL.  She and her husband resided in the Chicago area for over 50 years, before permanently moving to Florida in 2015. She was born May 25, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Wayne & Clara Belle Witter Viney. Her marriage was to Charles O. Ziemer of Chicago, IL on September 1, 1963, at the Flora United Methodist Church, and he survives. She was a 1960 graduate of Flora High School, received her nursing degree from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1963; received her BS in Education from National Lewis University in Chicago and also attained her IL Teaching and School Nursing Certificates. She was a stay at home mother, raising her children with her husband, until they were older, then worked for 15 years as a school nurse in both elementary and high schools in suburban Chicago. After retiring, she became a licensed EMT in Florida and worked as a volunteer for the Sun City Center Emergency Squad.  She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elmhurst, IL, and currently was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Apollo Beach, FL.  She loved  to travel, cruise, hike and bicycle ride, especially in Indiana. Surviving: husband, Charles O. "Chuck" Ziemer of Sun City Center, FL; sons-Martin W. Ziemer of Lisle, IL, Karl F. Ziemer of Westfield, IN, brother-Charles & Sonja Viney of Bringhurst; a niece Jennifer & Joe Armstrong; a nephew Brian & Lacey Viney; great nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by an infant sister, Nancy. Services: Friends may call Tuesday from 5pm-8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Funeral service there Wednesday 11am, Rev. Marissa Tweed Harrison officiating. Burial at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
