Sally Irene Sturdivant Smith, 86, of North Manchester, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 4, 2026 with her family by her side. Sally was blessed to have two mothers. Her dad Cecil Bodell and her step-mother Opal raised her and she loved them dearly. She kept in touch with her mother Irene Widner. Sally was born October 30, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She graduated from Logansport High School in 1958 and resided in Cass and Carroll County the majority of her life.

Sally leaves behind her family, many dear friends and a legacy of being a wonderful wife, devoted mother and a good friend to many. She loved the Lord, her family and friends beyond measure.

On June 23, 1993 Sally married Frank A. Sturdivant and they were married for twelve years. She was a member of the Lockport Church of Burnettsville. Sally retired from Burger King in 2004 but continued to work part time at Purdue University until March 2011. In April 2018 Sally moved to North Manchester to be closer to her children where she attended First Brethren Church of North Manchester.

Sally is survived by her son Gerald (Butch) Overmyer (wife Penny) of Cecil, OH; daughter Tammy Brown (husband Ron) of Springport, IN; son Cecil (C. J.) Overmyer (wife Rita) of Silver Lake, IN; son Scott Overmyer (fiancé Teresa) of Delphi, IN; several step children; brother Michael Flumbaum of Oklahoma; and 2 sisters Michelle Morren, Oklahoma and Robin Shallow of Chicago, IL; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan Overmyer (fiancé Sarah) of Cecil, OH; Amanda Overmyer of Lafayette, IN; Nick Overmyer (wife Kala) of South Whitley, IN; Mark Dolick of Lafayette, IN; and Paige Carnahan (husband Joe) of Lafayette, IN, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her parents, 1 grandson and 2 granddaughters.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held on Saturday-September 19, 2026, at 4:00pm, at Brown Church Cemetery, Rockfield, Rev. Nord Zootman & Rev. Ron Burns officiating.
