Ronald E. "Jake" Bogan, 83, of Delphi, died Wed-May 30, 2018, at 11:02 am, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Laf. He had battled cancer since 2004. He was born Feb 19, 1935 in Indianapolis, to the late Roland E. Bogan, and his mother Dorothy M. Horn Fisher. He was married to Ruth A. Hollingsworth in Frankfort, on Feb 24, 1956, and she preceded him in death on May 8, 1999. He attended Frankfort Schools. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the 4th Infantry, from June 1952 to June 1955, stationed in Germany. He owned the Cedar Crest Trailer Park on Lake Freeman for 15 years, operated Bogan Trucking for 35 years, and ran Bogan Salvage for 50 years, all in Delphi. He also farmed in Carroll County. He was a member of the Delphi American Legion Post 75. He enjoyed traveling, Blue Grass Music Festivals, and running the heavy machinery his occupation requires. He loved to eat out at restaurant's with family and friends. He dearly loved his family, and the time they spent together. Surviving: daughters-Sherry D. Burgin of Frankfort, Rhonda & Toby Grist of Prosper, TX; sons-Ronald L. "Ronnie" Bogan of Delphi, Mike D. Bogan & Debbie Storey of Pittsburg, Robert E. "Bob" Bogan of Monticello, Jason Lowry of Delphi; brother-Don & Shirley Bogan of Florida; half sisters-Laura Downs of Frankfort, Janet Winchester of Lebanon; half brother-David E. Fisher of Frankfort; special friend-Karen James of Delphi; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother Billie; half brother Steve; half sister Barb; son in law Joe. Services: Friends may call Sunday from 3pm-6pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Funeral service there Monday 10am, Rev. Dan Gottschalk officiating. Burial at IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg.
