Rodney L. "Popeye" Walters, 66, of Rockfield, passed away Thursday-June 25, 2026, at 7:19am, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. He was born on February 18, 1960, in Lafayette, to the late Richard "Dick" & Sally Ann Ora Hanaway Walters. He graduated from Delphi Community High School in 1979. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, receiving his basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood Army Base in Missouri, and then was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, until being honorably discharged. He worked for many years at IPC in Delphi and then for Tyson Fresh Meats in Logansport for many years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, NASCAR, especially former driver Bobby Labonte, and college sports. He loved spending time with his brother. Surviving: brother-Russell L. Walters of Rockfield, niece-Brianna & Jarrod McCormick of Delphi, a great niece, an aunt, and 2 uncles. Preceded in death by a brother Rick. Services: A graveside service will be held Tuesday-June 30, 2026, at 2pm at Rockfield Cemetery. Pastor Bruce Hankins officiating.
