Robert Charles "Bob" Sales, 65, of Delphi, died Fri-Apr 21, 2017 at 9:45am, at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, FL. He was born Sept 21, 1951 in Lafayette, to the late Robert C. & Lois Louise Weston Sales. His marriage was to Donna J. Arvin in Delphi, on Mar 8, 1969, and she survives. He was a 1969 graduate of Delphi Community High School, and was center of their football team, when Delphi had winning season's for several years. He attended Purdue University, and completed their Agriculture Short Course. He worked for Eli Lilly Co. in Lafayette from 1982-2009, and was Capt. of the HASMAT Team. He was baptized at the Frist Presbyterian Church in Delphi. He was a mentor for the Arthritis Foundations in Fort Wayne & Indianapolis. He enjoyed flying RC airplanes, fishing, camping, always had a huge gardening, and kept his yard in immaculate condition. He enjoyed recreational shooting, and would hunt pheasant & quail. Sales of Delphi; daughter-Anita & Todd Hoshaw of Lebanon; son-Kent & Jennifer Sales of Delphi; sister-Debbie & Dr. Dave Harper of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren: Alison, Haley, Morgan Trey, Morgan Taylor, Makayla, & Katie. A niece Amy, & 2 nephews Patrick & Sean survive. Services: Friends may call Saturday from 11am until his funeral service at 2pm, at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Rev. Tim Stewart officiating.
