Obituary

Robert D. "Bob" Draper, 82, of Delphi, died Mon.-Feb. 2, 2015 at 6:50pm at his home. He was born Aug. 29, 1932 in Flora to the late Donald & Myrtle Mae Sibrary Draper. His marriage was to Marjorie M. Rex in Delphi on Mar. 25, 1955, and she survives. He was a 1951 graduate of Delphi High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, in the artillery regiment. He was the parts manager for the former Jackson-Lee-Pearson John Deere Dealership in Flora, for 32 years. He then started his own business BOMAR Farm Service, and operated it for 5 years, before retiring. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church-Delphi, Delphi American Legion Post #75, lifetime member of the North American Fishing Club, & the John Purdue Club. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed the beauty of nature while being outdoors, enjoyed bowling, and was a big supporter of Purdue University athletics, enjoyed the Indianapolis Colts & Pacers, and liked to travel. He dearly loved his wife, daughter, son & daughter in law, his sisters & brother, and his grand & great grandchildren, extended family, and his many friends. Bob never met a stranger, and you always felt better after having talked with him.
Surviving: wife-Marjorie M. Draper of Delphi; daughter-Kathy Peterson of Delphi; son-Doug & Becky Draper of Delphi; sisters-Jean Ann & Don Sommers of Idaville, Judy Mullin of Lynn; brother-Fred Draper of Delphi; 2 grand & 2 step grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild survive. Preceded in death by 2 sister's-Betty Jo Spitznagle & Donna Simmons; 3 brother's-Billy, Don, & Wayne Draper. There will be no formal services. Private family services will take place at a later date.
