Robert E. "Bob" Blount, 86, of rural Delphi, passed away at his home on Monday-August 19, 2024, at 5:43am, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 16, 1937, in Jasper County, Round Grove Township, IN, to the late Cecil & Thelma Sweet Blount. His marriage was to Mary M. Elston, at Hickory Grove Church, on July 12, 1964, and she survives. He attended school in Royal Center. He formerly worked at RCA in Monticello from 1955 to 1982. He then went to work at Wabash National in Lafayette from August 1985 until his retirement in February 2001 and had perfect attendance while he worked there. He and his wife were members of the Hickory Grove Church. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, traveling, and gambling at their favorite casino in Tunica, MS, and card games. He loved putting out a big garden for his family and neighbors to share its produce and enjoyed harvesting walnuts when they were in season. His greatest love was for his family. He dearly loved them all and enjoyed being with them for any occasion. They were his life.

Preceded in death by brother's Cecil, Frank, Dean, Steve, sisters Edna, Sharon, Marjorie. Services: Visitation is Thursday from 5pm to 8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. His funeral service will be Friday at 11am at Hickory Grove Church, rural Delphi, Pastor Adam Morris officiating. Burial at Yeoman Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Wheels of Hope, 1762 W.
