Richard Lee "Dick" Walters, 81, of Rockfield, died Thurs-June 14, 2018 at 4:10pm at Monticello Healthcare. He had been a resident there for 6 weeks, and in ill health since February. He was born June 20, 1936 in Delphi, to the late Charles & Gladys Young Walters. His marriage was to Sally Anne Ora Hanaway, at her parents home near Delphi, on July 13, 1957, and she survives. He was a 1955 graduate of Camden High School, and served for 3 years in the IN National Guard. He worked for Delphi Body Works for 43 years, welding, working on hydraulics, and in the parts department. He was a Volunteer Fireman for the Rock Creek Fire Dept. He and his wife wintered in Clermont, FL for 19 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, and hunting. He loved to be outdoors, and enjoyed mushroom hunting in the Spring. He also liked to participate in garden tractor pulling contests. Surviving: wife-Sally Anne Ora Walters of Rockfield; sons-Popeye Walters of Delphi, Russell Walters of Delphi; brothers-Joe & Judy Walters of Pittsburg, Bob Walters of Pittsburg; sisters-Mary Lou Rude of Delphi, Doris Jean & Gary Lake of Burlington; granddaughter-Brianna Walters of Bringhurst. Preceded in death by a son Rick Walters; 2 brother's Frank & Jerry. Services: Graveside service Monday at 10am at Rockfield Cemetery, Pastor Bruce Hankins officiating. Memorial contributions to the donor's favorite charity. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, in charge of arrangements.
