Obituary

Richard Dean "Dick" Dillman, 71, of Delphi, died Sunday-Feb 18, 2018 at 4:00am at his home, after a 3 year battle with lung cancer. He was born Feb 19, 1946 in Carroll County, to the late Raymond & Emma Schnepp Dillman. His marriage was to Patricia A. "Pat" Martin in Delphi, on Mar 19, 1965, and she survives. He was a 1964 graduate of Delphi High School, and had computer training through his work for his profession. His 1st job was with Carroll County REMC, from 1966-1973; he then was a farm hand for McCormick Farms, Delphi, 1973-1980; he worked for NIPSCO for 35 years in Monticello, retiring as a Supervisor in December 2010. He continued to work for NIPSCO for another 5 years, as a supervisor over contractor's doing work on gas lines. He was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling with his family, enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting & school events, attending car show's, Delphi Community High School basketball games, Purdue University men's basketball games, mowing yards, and being outside. He enjoyed buying and fixing up cars & trucks and reselling them.  He dearly loved his family, that was his life. Surviving: wife-Patricia A. "Pat" Dillman of Delphi; son-Travis D. Dillman of Delphi; granddaughter-Madisyn M. Dillman of Delphi; grandson-Brayden L. Dillman of Delphi; sisters-Beverly J. Dillman of Inglewood, CA, Barbara A. Cook of Hawthorne, CA; brother-Jack & Jan Dillman of Lafayette; brother in law-James "Jim" Quinlisk of Rossville. Preceded in death by a sister in law Barbara Quinlisk. Services: friends may call Thursday from 4-8pm at the Delphi United Methodist Church, funeral service Friday 11am there, Rev. Todd Ladd officiating. Burial at Masonic Cemetery, Delphi. Memorial contributions to the Carroll Co. Cancer Association or Delphi United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, envelopes available at the church.
