Richard L. "Dick" Lawson, 80, of Delphi, died Fri-June 23, 2017 at 4:40pm at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. He had been a resident there for 3 years. He was born Feb 21, 1937 in Reynolds, to the late Henry & Dade Hamm Lawson. His marriage was to Carolyn L. Welte in White County, on May 18, 1957, and she survives. He attended Idaville High School. He worked for 5 years for the City of Delphi Street Dept., retiring in 1998. He also worked for 20 years at Delphi Body Works, delivering trucks. He was a member of the Gurnsey Brethren Church in White County. He enjoyed camping, and euchre card games. He loved watching NASCAR, and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr.  Surviving: wife-Carolyn L. Lawson of Delphi; daughters-Nancy & Terry Spangler of Delphi, Connie & Jeff Cox of Delphi; son-William "Bill" & Kim Lawson of Delphi; sister-Carolyn Lowring of Monticello; 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by 2 sisters, 1 brother. Services: Friends may call Tuesday from 1pm until his funeral service at 3pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Rev. Todd Ladd officiating.
