Ralph E. Miller Jr, 58, rural Brookston, passed away Friday-April 8, 2022, at 5:55pm, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He had been there 1 day after becoming ill unexpectedly. He was born July 9, 1963, in Lafayette, to his late mother Patricia A. Fife Henry, and his father Ralph E. Miller Sr. His marriage was to Michelle L. Dexter Mitchell in Lafayette, on September 14, 2013, and she survives. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1981. He worked at Purdue University as an industrial plumber for the past 12 years. He took great pride in servicing and maintaining all of the fountains on Purdue's campus. He formerly belonged to the West Lafayette American Legion Post 492. He enjoyed his home on the Tippecanoe River. He loved to go boating and fishing, hunting and camping with his family and friends, and always enjoyed and looked forward to their camping trips to the Mississinewa Reservoir. He loved being outside and enjoyed mushroom hunting. He helped coach his son's sporting events, was a Minnesota Vikings fan, enjoyed NASCAR and driver Dale Jr, and Purdue men's sports. His family and grandchildren meant everything to him, and he loved being together for any reason, to celebrate a birthday, or sit around a fire by the river. Surviving: wife-Michelle L. Mitchell-Miller of Brookston; daughter-Nikki & Steven Cardenas of Blacksburg, VA; son-Jesse E. Miller & fiancé' Allison Thayer of Monticello; daughters-Adrian & Cory Smith of Bringhurst, Amber Mitchell of Burlington, & Haley Mithcell & Dylan Baker of Delphi; son-Robert Mitchell of Delphi; sister-Megan & Justin Moore of Lafayette; brothers-Tim Miller & Eric Miller both of Lafayette; father-Ralph E. Miller Sr (sp). Patsy of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by a nephew Dylan Miller. Services: Visitation will be Thursday from 4pm until his funeral service at 7pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Brian Scott officiating. Private family interment at a later date.
