Ralph "Dick, Digger" Richard Robinson, 63, of Monticello, IN passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 18th, 2022, he died peacefully in his sleep in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dick was born in Lafayette, IN on August 26th to the late Richard & Mary (Kennedy)Robinson. Dick graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School in 1976. After graduation, Dick attended Purdue University earning two bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management. An entrepreneur at heart he utilized his education to co-found Whiskey Barrel Planters and Diggers Vending.
Dick married Ann Freeland on July 20th,
1985;
they were married for 26 years until their divorce. Remaining close
friends,
they continued raising their three children together, celebrating holidays, birthdays, and important life events.
He enjoyed spending time with his family cooking out, traveling, attending sporting events, and taking his grandkids on "Papaws Boat." Dick attended Our Lady of the Lakes catholic church where he was a charter member of the Monticello Knights of Columbus. An avid sports fan Dick enjoyed cheering on the Cubs, Purdue, the Bears, and attending the Indy 500. Dick loved spending time on the lake with friends and family, especially his two grandkids. He is survived by his three kids: daughter Sarah Robinson of Auburn Hills, MI; son Joe (Keali Cauble) Robinson of Monticello, IN; son James (Kierstin) Robinson of Noblesville, IN. Dick leaves behind his two great loves his grandchildren Hudson & Caroline Robinson of Noblesville, IN. In addition, he leaves behind his Kennedy cousins and many great friends. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, is assisting the family with arrangements. The family will receive friends Friday-April 22, 2022, from 11am to 1pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. A memorial mass will be held at 2pm at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Monticello. Private family interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.
