Peggy Sue Schmitter, 72, of West Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday-May 18, 2023, at 12:02pm, at her daughter's home where she resided. Peggy was born March 5, 1951, in Lafayette, to the late Joseph & Mary Mona Yates Schmitter. Peggy graduated from Twin Lakes High School in 1973. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Monticello. Peggy worked at the former Gerber-Globe Valve Corp., in Delphi, for 21 years. Peggy enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, drawing & sketching, and playing computer games. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and loved being with them for any occasion. Surviving: daughter-April & Daniel Mendez of West Lafayette, son-Hans & Lufi Schmitter of Zionsville, sister-Penny L. Schmitter of Delphi, 2 grandchildren & 2 step grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers. Private family services took place. Burial was at Riverview IOOF Cemetery, Monticello.
