Nancy L. Swaney LaFontaine, 80, of Delphi, died Saturday-January 8, 2022, at 6:00am, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. She was born January 28, 1941, in Paxton, IL, to the late Lawrence & Nellie Edmonds Swaney.  She graduated from Gibson City High School in IL and received her LPN degree from the Champaigne School of Nursing in IL., in 1971.  She worked for several years in healthcare in nursing facilities in IL, and then moved to Delphi, and worked at several area nursing homes in Delphi, Rossville, and Lafayette. She and a friend had the Nik-Nak Shack in Delphi, specializing in plaster crafts and painting. She attended the Delphi United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts. Surviving: daughter-Denise & Randy Strasser of Delphi; brother-Timothy Swaney of Edmond, OK; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren survive. A niece Diana and a nephew Troy. Preceded in death by her son Kent, and a brother James. Services: The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the Delphi United Methodist Church, from 5pm until her memorial service at 6pm, Rev. Todd Ladd officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphi United Methodist Church or the Carroll County Senior Citizen's, envelopes will be available at the church.
