Nancy E. Reece Maxson, 79, of Delphi, died at 12:45pm, Mon.-Sept. 12, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi, after a battle with cancer. She was born July 19, 1937 in Kokomo, to the late Harry & Evelyn Pike Reece. Her marriage was to Virgil Maxson in Knox, on May 22, 1954, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1989. She attended Richland Center School, and was a member of the Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren, near Camden. She worked for 11 years at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi, in housekeeping, and was a homemaker. When she was younger, she enjoyed riding horses. She dearly loved her family, and the time they spent together. Surviving: daughter-Gwynne & Mike Simmons of Columbus; sons-Gene & Lizbeth Maxson of Delphi, Rob & Amelia Maxson of Sycamore, IL; sister-Joan & Jerry McGriff of Lawrence, KS; brother-Paul & Judy Reece of Rochester; her companion-Richard Pearson of Delphi, with whom she made her home for the past 8 years. 13 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter. Preceded in death by a son Mark; 1 brother Bill; 1 sister Betsey; half sister Charlotte. Services: Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi.
