Obituary

Mildred E. "Mim" Meluch Leinberger, 89, of Delphi, passed away Friday-June 6, 2025, at 8:45pm, at St. Anthony Rehab & Nursing Center in Lafayette. Mim was born on January 10, 1936, in Charleroi, PA, to the late John & Mildred Nevel Meluch. She married Joseph K. Leinberger, in Charleroi, PA, on September 8, 1956, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2019. Mim graduated from Charleroi High School in 1953. Her first job was for the former Bell Telephone Co. Then, after her marriage to Joe, she was a homemaker and helped on their family farm. Mim previously belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi and was a current member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Monticello. Mim loved to help all her children with their 4-H projects. She enjoyed putting out a big garden for her family and neighbors and would can the produce she grew. She was an awesome seamstress and made a lot of her children's clothing. She loved to bake and was a great cook, enjoyed mushroom hunting and bird watching, and loved to take walks in their nearby woods. She was an avid reader, enjoyed music, and she and Joe loved to dance at local venues they would attend to listen to music, especially in Cutler. She and Joe like auctions and garage sales, NASCAR especially driver Tony Stewart, and going to local tractor pulls. Family was everything to Mim, she dearly loved them all and enjoyed being together for any occasion. Surviving: daughter-Mimi & John Woodhouse of Lucerne, daughter-Betty & Mike Shulz of Demorest, GA, son-Joe & Penny Leinberger of Marshall, IL, son-Bill & Mary Leinberger of Woodbury, MN, daughter-Rita & John Calloway of Carmel, daughter-Bernadette (Sister Mary Rosanna) Leinberger of Saginaw, MI, son-Alan & Janee' Leinberger of Fishers, sister-Kathy & Bob Agamedi of Rostraver Township, PA, sister-Johnnie Rice of Brooktondale, NY, 9 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, 15 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by an infant son Robert, a sister Maryann Evans. Special friends: Sam & Brenda Johns, John & Trisha Davis, Denise & Jeff Craig, Donnie Peterson, Kathi Shriner, Andrea Smothers. The family would also like to thank Teresa Maxwell & family for taking such great care of their farm. Services: Visitation will be Saturday from 10am until her funeral mass at 12pm at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Monticello. Fr. Chris Miller officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Run Cemetery, rural Carroll County. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Indian School, 1301 N.
