Mary E. Wilcox Schnepp, 96, of rural Tippecanoe County, passed away at her home unexpectedly Sunday morning. She was born July 22, 1924 in Jackson Township, Carroll County, IN, to the late Russell & Blanche Wallace Wilcox. Her marriage was to Robert John Schnepp in Delphi on January 25, 1942, and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2009. Mary graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1942. While her husband was in the military service, she lived near Camp Atterbury for 9 months. She worked at the former Kroger grocery store in Delphi for 9 years, and then for the former Union Bank & Trust Co. in Delphi, now Regions Bank, for 21 years, retiring from there July 30, 1989. She was a longtime and very active member of the Colburn United Methodist Church, where she was treasurer for many years, taught Sunday school, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Colburn Homemakers Club, was a 2nd vice president of the Tippecanoe County Farm Bureau, and was a Washington Township, Tippecanoe County precinct committee person for the Republican party for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and was known for her homemade cookies and baked goods. She dearly loved her family and being with them. Surviving: daughter-Patricia & Lloyd VanHoosier of Rossville; sister-Martha Steinman of Carl's Bad, CA; brother-Gene & Sandy Wilcox of Lafayette; sister in law-Judy Wilcox of Lafayette; 4 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by her son and daughter in law Leslie & Pam Schnepp; 2 grandson's Kasey Schnepp & David VanHoosier; 4 brother's. Services: Visitation will be Friday from 10:30am until her funeral service at 11am at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Rev. Dan Gottschalk officiating. Burial at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colburn United Methodist Church. Facial masks must be worn and social distancing practiced.
