Mary Shattuck Ives passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at IU Arnett Hospital.

She was born January 14, 1932, in Birmingham, Alabama to Harold F. and Elizabeth (Wadsworth) Shattuck.  Her family moved to Missouri, and she graduated from Webster Groves High School in 1949.  She then graduated from DePauw University in 1953, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

In July 1953 she married Joseph T." Tom" Ives, Jr. They eventually settled in Delphi, where they raised 4 children.  She was active on the Delphi Library Board and the Delphi Parks and Recreation Board.

She is survived by her children Susan Lynch (Joe Scott), Rob Ives (Carol) and Nancy Howard (Jeff), 3 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren.  Also surviving are her bothers Frank Shattuck of New Orleans, LA, and Steve Shattuck (Susan) of Bethesda, MD.

She was predeceased by her parents and a daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" Ives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Delphi Public Library, Delphi Parks Department or a charity of your choice.
