Martha J. Connelly Janz, 91, of Lafayette, died Sun.-May 22, 2016 at 5:42pm, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Laf. She was born Dec. 31, 1924 in Tippecanoe County, to the late John and Lenora Connelly. Her marriage was to Jacob A. "Jack" Janz, in Delphi, on June 7, 1947, and he survives. She was a 1942 graduate of the former Buck Creek High School. She was the bookkeeper/accountant for The Anderson's Store near Delphi, a company from which she retired. She and her husband were founding members of the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Delphi. She volunteered many hours of her time, provided countless meals, and helped with the administrative duties and secretarial needs of the church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and exercise to keep herself healthy. She gave of herself to others freely and without hesitation, always willing to lend a hand where needed. Her greatest joy was her family, making herself available to them whenever needed. She dearly loved them all. Surviving: husband-Jacob A. "Jack" Janz of Lafayette; daughter-Jaqueline "Jackie" Wagner; her husband Randall of Lafayette; grandson-Jonathan Craig Shaeffer; his wife Monica of West Lafayette; 3 great grandchildren-Jack, Juliet, & Evana. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Services: Friends may call Thursday from 11am until her funeral service at 12pm at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Delphi. Pastor John Westfall officiating. There will be a private family burial. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at her service.
