Martha L.
Humberd Allbaugh
May 24, 1935 – March 26, 2024
Martha L. Humberd Allbaugh, 88, of Delphi, passed away Tuesday-March 26, 2024, at 1:14pm, at her home. Martha was born on May 24, 1935, in Martinsburg, PA, to the late Russell & Anna Marie Black Humberd. She married Donald K. Allbaugh, at her parents' house on Bringhurst Road, on September 18, 1954, and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2014. Martha graduated from Flora High School in 1953. She worked at the former Alloy Crafts near Delphi, the Carroll County courthouse in the Clerk's office and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bringhurst Community Church and was their organist for 37 years. She also had played organ for the Camden United Methodist Church for several years too. Her mother knew at a young age that Martha had a gift, and music was it. She could play anything, and if you couldn't name the tune, all you had to do was hum a little, and she would know exactly what song it was, and start playing it without any music. She played for countless wedding, graduations, funerals, and all music at her church. She even played for her late husband's funeral because she knew what he liked and wanted it to be perfect. Martha enjoyed putting out a big garden, and loved to share the produce it grew with her family and neighbors. She enjoyed canning, cooking homemade meals for her family was a favorite of hers. She enjoyed playing euchre, going to garage sales, mushroom hunting, the simple pleasure of life is what she cherished the most. Martha was a straight shooter. You always knew where you stood with her. What you saw is exactly what you got. She appreciated that honesty in return, and in her inner circle, you would see a woman of great faith, love & compassion, and an awesome sense of humor. Her deep seeded faith in the good Lord, helped her instill those core beliefs and values into her greatest love, her family. She loved them all so much and enjoyed being with them for any occasion. Never missing a chance to be at one of her many grandchildren's school or sporting events. What a reunion that is going on in heaven right now. Well, done you good and faithful servant. Surviving: daughter-Mary & Ray Simpson of Bringhurst, son-Rex & Robin Allbaugh of Delphi, son-Ron & Janet Allbaugh of Delphi, grandchildren: Kyle & Kim Allbaugh of Lafayette, Benjamin & Heidi Allbaugh of Flora, John Allbaugh of Lafayette, Matthew & Kara Trapp of Flora, Monica & Matt Dubord of Evansville, Nelson & Christy Allbaugh of Lafayette, and Holly & Brad Kiger of Covington. 15 great grandchildren survive.
