Obituary

Marjorie L. Maxwell Calvert, 74, of Delphi, passed away Saturday-December 20, 2025, at 7:59pm, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Marge was born on March 1, 1951, in Lafayette, to the late Ancil & Lois Allbaugh Maxwell. She married Glenn L. "Butch" Calvert on December 16, 1973, in Flora, and he survives. Marge graduated from Flora High School in 1969 and received her beautician's degree from the Lafayette Beauty Academy. Marge worked for many years at the Fashion Coiffure's Beauty Salon in Delphi, eventually buying the business and owning and operating it until her retirement in 2010. Marge was a former member of the Flora Brethren Church and currently a member of the Delphi Methodist Church. She was an avid reader, enjoying cross stitching and crocheting. She loved to be outside and, in the spring, enjoyed mushroom hunting. Family was everything to Marge, and she loved being with them all for any occasion. Always looking forward to when her out-of-State granddaughter would come and stay with grandma & grandpa during the summer. She dearly loved them all. Surviving: husband-Glenn L. "Butch" Calvert of Delphi, daughter-Brandi & Wayde Gaines of Perry, MO, son-Randy & Stephanie Calvert of Flora, granddaughters: Braydee Gaines & Lyla Calvert, brother-Ralph Maxwell of Burlington. Preceded in death by a sister Carol Cox, sister-in-law Carol Ann Maxwell. The Calvert family will receive friends from 3pm until her memorial service at 6pm, Thursday the 15th, at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Pastor Brad Burton officiating. Private family interment at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children or St. Judes Hospital for Children.
