Marianna M. Rommel Andrew Bougie, 98, of Portage, passed away on Friday-June 7, 2024, at 10:17pm, at her niece's home in LaPorte, where she was caring for her. Marianna was born on June 5, 1926, in Fowler, to the late Carey & Melva Rommel. Her first marriage was to Paul R. Andrew in Oxford in 1944, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1985. She then married Gilbert Bougie in Hobart in 1988, and he preceded her in death in July of 2006. She was a 1944 graduate of Oxford High School. She was a homemaker and worked at the former Bethlehem Steel Factory in Burns Harbor, IN for 10 years. She was a member of the Michigan Avenue Methodist Church in Hobart for many years and played the organ for services. She and her husband belonged to the Holiday Rambler Trailer Club for 30 years. Traveling and camping all over the United States with their family and friends. She enjoyed knitting, watching her Blue Birds, was an avid reader, loved music, and her dog Bruney. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Surviving: son-Dennis & Dana Andrew of LaPorte, son-Bob Andrew of Portage, sister-Margaret Hirt of Arvada, CO, daughter-in-law Linda Andrew of New Boston, MI, son-in-law Barry Smith of FL, nieces & nephews, 8 grandchildren, & 9 great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by 3 son's Bradley, Stephen, & Bruce, a daughter Paula. Services: A graveside service will be held at Fowler Cemetery on Thursday-June 13, at 2:00pm, Rev. Todd Ladd officiating.
