Mable L. McVey Powell, 83, of Delphi, passed away at her residence, Monday-August 1, 2022, at 1:48am, after a brief illness. She was born August 14, 1938, in Tazewell, TN, to the late Claude & Juanita Roark McVey. Her marriage was to Harold A. Powell, in Chalmers, on June 5, 1959, and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2021. She was a 1959 graduate of Chalmers High School. She worked for 25 years at the former SAYCO Manufacturing in Flora, retiring September 18, 2000. She attended the Delphi United Methodist Church. Mable enjoyed collecting bells, gardening, and planting many different flowers around her home. She enjoyed canning the many vegetables she planted in her garden for her family and friends to enjoy. She dearly loved her family and loved to travel with them when she could. Surviving: son-Tony W. Powell & Janet Fry of Delphi, son-Steve A. Powell of Delphi; sister-Nell Hart of Lafayette; 5 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by a son Mike Powell, a sister Helen, 2 brothers Claude & Paul. Services: Visitation will be Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Her funeral service will be there Thursday at 11am, Rev. Todd Ladd officiating.
