Lois Ann Mayberry Ayres, 92, formerly of Flora, died Sat-July 14, 2018 at 9:15am, at St Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. She was born Mar 9, 1926 in Logansport, to the late George & Fern Hower Mayberry. Her marriage was to Richard Lee Ayres in Logansport on Oct 12, 1947, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1989. She was a 1944 graduate of Logansport High School. She and her husband owned and operated Ayres Oil Co., in Flora, where she was the bookkeeper for many years. She then worked part-time at the former J Ann Shop, and then for the Grapevine Boutique in Flora. She was a member of the Living Faith Church of the Brethren, Flora. She enjoyed bowling, tennis, playing bridge, and boating, swimming, and skiing on Lake Freeman. She dearly loved her family. Surviving: daughters-Karen & Kenneth "Ken" Anderson of New Port Richey, FL, Cindy Lesh of Monticello; grandchildren: Kristie, Kendra, Shea, & Brandon; great grandchildren: Kinsey Zinn; Kassidy Jones; Kelsey Jones; step sister-Donna & Bart Bartrand of Grand Rapids, MI. Preceded in death by a sister Betty. A private family celebration of life memorial service has taken place.
