Linda J. Tylka Brook, 62, of rural Monticello, passed away unexpectedly Sunday-April 24, 2022, at 9:18pm, after becoming ill on Wednesday at her residence. She was born March 21, 1960, in Chicago, IL, to the late Eugene & Caroline Mikolajczyk Tylka. Her marriage was to Terrence "Terry" Brook in Delphi, on September 10, 1997, and he survives. She attended Hinsdale High School in Chicago and received her GED in 2009. She received her certificate as a CNA, and worked at Camelot in Logansport, and St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, and the former Birchwood Manor both in Delphi, from 1988 to 1996. She then went to work for the former Peters-Revington Furniture Factory in Delphi from 1996 to 2008. Linda enjoyed putting out a big garden and loved to cook the produce she would raise. She loved music, especially older rock-n-roll, enjoyed shopping and home decorating. Always ready for a new look and makeover in her home. She loved her dogs Piper & Isabella. She practiced earthbound healing with crystals, and enjoyed wearing her moccasins, and playing the part of the hipster she was. She and her husband loved to travel, especially a trip to Maine to whale watch and enjoy a lobster dinner, looking out over the ocean. Her family was everything to her. She dearly loved them all and being together for any occasion made her day. Surviving: husband-Terrence "Terry" Brook of Monticello; son-TJ & Jennifer McGee of Decatur, AL; son-Denny & Misty McGee of Flora; stepson-Terrence "Terry" Brook Jr of Portage; brother-Daniel Tylka & Barb of Lemont, IL; sister in law-Donna Tylka of Aurora, IL; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by a brother Garrett. Services: The family will receive friends on Friday from 4pm to 7pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Private family interment at a later date.
