Larry L. Schrader, 86, of Delphi, passed away Thursday-May 14, 2026, at 10:46am, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. Larry was born on November 2, 1939, in Lafayette, to the late Floyd & Ella Ruth Trent Schrader. His marriage was to L. Jean Best on June 17, 1961, in Delphi, and she preceded him in death on November 24, 2008. Larry graduated from Delphi High School in 1958. He worked for over 38 years at Fairfield Manufacturing, now Dana Corp in Lafayette, retiring from there. Larry served for 11 years in the IN National Guard Army, attaining the rank of Sargent. He attended Lockport Church, loved to read and study his bible, and enjoyed TV evangelist. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed target shooting at his son in laws home. He loved the Indianapolis 500 and the NY Yankees. He enjoyed running and competed in 2 Chicago marathons. He loved old Westerns and John Wayne and the Andy Griffith Show. He loved his cat, Mickey. Most important to him was his family. He dearly loved them all and enjoyed being with them for any occasion. Surviving: son-Phil W. Schrader of Delphi, son-Troy & Julie Schrader of Monticello, daughter-Stephanie & Paul Wilson of Camden, daughter-Shelly & Harry Will of Delphi. 6 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren survive. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Chelsea. The family wishes to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Franciscan Health for the care they gave their dad. They would also like to thank Via Quest Hospice for the care they provided to Larry as well. Private family services will be held on Tuesday, with private family burial at IOOF Cemetery in Delphi. Rev. Nord Zootman will officiate. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, is assisting the family with arrangements.
