Lanette L. Cunningham Sechrist, 86, of Lafayette, died Monday-Jan 1, 2018 at 3:30am at St. Mary's Healthcare Center, Lafayette. She had been a resident there for 4 years. She was born June 16, 1931 in Lafayette, to the late Lawurence Cunningham, and Mildred Lane Shepard. Her marriage was to Paul K. Sechrist in Delphi, on Feb 14, 1978, and he survives. She was a 1949 graduate of Benjamin Bosse High School, Evansville. She worked for the former National Homes in Lafayette as a secretary, then was the administrative secretary for the purchasing agent at the former Gerber Globe Valve Corp in Delphi for 2 years, and was a homemaker. She was raised in Evansville, and in 1958 moved to Delphi. Then in the early 80's, she and her husband moved to Tucson, AZ, for 30 years, then moved back to Lafayette in 2011. She loved to travel, and made it to 48 States, plus Mexico & Canada. She enjoyed ceramics, need point, and her passion was sewing. She dearly loved her family. Surviving: husband-Paul K Sechrist of Lafayette; daughters-Cheryl Shull of Jacksonville, FL, Claudette & Lynn Brown of Flora, Vande & Tom Grimm of Evansville, Renee Mitchell of Lafayette; son-Brian & Lenora Gooch of Attica; step brothers-Gerry & Tana Shepard of Monticello, Terry Shepard of Delphi; stepson-Frank Sechrist of Delphi; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter Jalayne Johns; son in law Larry Shull; brother Sonny Emmert; step brother Lerry Shepard.
