Judith J. "Judy" Brothers Crowel, 75, of rural Delphi, died Sat-Apr 28, 2018 at 1:55am at St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette. She had battled leukemia since Dec 2017. She was born to the late Jesse E. Brothers and her mother L. Mae Drake Brothers Ferrier. Her marriage was to Brice S. Crowel in Rockfield, on Sept 29, 1963, and he survives. She was a 1960 graduate of Camden High School. She was a homemaker and helped her husband on their family farm. She was an active member of the Hickory Grove Church, was in the Women's Fellowship, holding all the offices, taught Sunday school, and helped provided countless meals for the many church functions over the years. She was in Tri Kappa Sorority Auxiliary; Wabash & Erie Canal Association of Delphi; and was a regular blood donor for many years. She enjoyed crafts and sewing, quilting, camping and traveling, making it to almost all 50 States. She enjoyed cruising with her husband in their 55 Chevy, and going to cruise in's and car shows. Her greatest love was her family. She dearly loved her husband & children. She enjoyed all of her grandchildren, and attending and supporting their many activities. She had countless friends and neighbors and extended family that she cared for as well. She loved the good Lord, and had a strong and deep faith, that helped carry her through in life, and when she was diagnosed with leukemia. Brave to the end, and at peace with herself. Surviving: husband-Brice S. Crowel of Delphi; daughters-Pam & Andre Darger of Rock Spring, GA, Paula & Brett Striegel of Mooresville; son-Jeff & Jennifer Crowel of Delphi; stepsister-Janet & Neal Gobel of Indianapolis; stepbrother-Jim & Judy Ferrier of Towanda, IL; 7 grandchildren. Preceded by her stepfather Bob Ferrier. Services: friends may call Tuesday from 4pm-8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Funeral service Wednesday 11am at the Hickory Grove Church, rural Delphi, calling one hour prior to her funeral. Pastor's Eric Riddle & Ken Smith officiating. Burial at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
