Jorge D. Pech Tun, 51, of Delphi, passed away on Saturday-July 27, 2024, at 12:39am, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on December 22, 1972, in Tunkas, Yucatan, Mexico, to his late mother Amelia Tun Canul, and his surviving father Angel Benjamin Pech Canul. His marriage was to Graciela A. Vasquez, in Delphi, on May 29, 2022, and she survives. He attended school in California. Jorge started working at IPC near Delphi in 1993, and currently was a team leader on the kill floor, working there for the past 31 years. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in West Lafayette. Jorge loved tackling home projects and enjoyed auto mechanics. He was a 3rd degree blackbelt, and enjoyed metal detecting, finding all kinds of lost treasures to him, maybe not so much to his family, who would always have a smile on their face. He loved to travel, and enjoyed a trip to Chicago, where he stayed in a hotel room for the first time, thoroughly enjoying himself. His greatest love was for his wife and children and extended family. He loved to be with them for any occasion. He enjoyed having them over for a meal or holidays, just as long as they were together. They were his life. Surviving: wife-Graciela A. Vasquez of Delphi, son-Randy D. Pech of Flora, son-George D. Pech Jr of Flora, son-Sean M. Hicks of Monticello, father-Angel B. Pech Canul of Delphi, sister-Wendy G. Pech Tun of Flora, sister-Ruby G. Pech Tun of Tunkas, Yucatan, Mexico, brother-Angel B. Pech Canul of Delphi, stepsons-Alex Navarrete of Delphi & Bryan Navarrete of Cape Coral, FL. 12 grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by a brother. Services: Visitation will be Tuesday at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, form 5pm to 7pm. His funeral service will be Wednesday-July 31, 2024, at 11:00am, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3509 Soldiers Home Road, West Lafayette, IN 47906. Pastor Pedro Correa & Pastor Joseph Capeles officiating. Burial at IOOF Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, is assisting the family with arrangements.
