Jonathan E. Boyd, 66, of rural Delphi, passed away Wednesday-January 31, 2024, at 11:56am, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born July 28, 1957, in Lafayette, to the late B. Wayne & M. Joan Vore Boyd. His marriage was to Carmen R. Boyd, at her parents' home in Twain Harte, CA, on July 28, 1978, and she survives. He graduated from Mount Baker High School in Mt. Baker, WA, in 1975. He attended Seattle University, in Seattle, WA, for 1 year. He worked in the construction industry and was in cookware sales. He also looked forward to salsa season each year. At age 20, he accepted Christ into his life, was baptized, and remained faithful. He was a member of the Deer Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church near Camden. He was an avid reader and interested in learning new things. He never knew a stranger, and enjoyed engaging people he would meet in conversation. As his health declined, his relationship with Jesus grew stronger and his desire for heaven increased. Surviving: wife-Carmen R. Boyd of Delphi, son-Stephen & Angie Boyd of Arcanum, OH, daughter-Heidi & Stephen Sink of Covington, OH, son-Michael & Abby Boyd of Pyrmont, daughter-Rebekah & Joseph Kessler of Cutler. 12 grandsons: Keir, Kidren, Asher and Klein Boyd, Kayde, Reece, Brant and Heath Sink, Dre', Preston, Bently and Tristan Kessler. Sister-Melanie & Andrew Albers of Harrison, AR, brother-Martin & Brenda Boyd of Rossville, half brother Dennis & Joretta Boyd of Indianapolis, brother-in-law-David Bowling of Monmouth, OR. Sister-in-law Rachel & Larry Salter, sister-in-law Linda & Mike Crawford, brother-in-law Calvin Boyd. He was preceded in death by a sister Anita Bowling, a half-brother Michael Boyd, & sister-in-law Barbara Boyd. Services: Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm to 5pm, & 6pm to 8pm at Deer Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church near Camden. Funeral service will be there on Monday at 9am, with home brethren officiating. Burial will be at North Fork Church Cemetery, near Pyrmont.
