John Frank Erickson, 68, of Brookston passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born on January 5, 1957, in Lafayette, Indiana, John was the youngest son of John Paul and Gloria Thompson Erickson.  He graduated in 1975 from Frontier High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics in 1979 from Purdue University.  John spent 47 years working as a farmer of which he was the fourth generation of the family farm east of Brookston.

John was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and love and dedication to his family.   He enjoyed Purdue sports, golfing with his sons, spending time with his wife Denise, and cheering at his grandchildren's sporting events. Above all, his faith was unsurmountable in all that he did.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Denise Weidner Erickson; his two sons, John Marc, wife Sara, and Matthew Jay; his grandchildren Charlize and Channing; and his sister, Lana and her husband Robert Little and sister-in-law Virginia Erickson. Preceded-in-death by a brother, Dr. Steven Erickson.

John will be remembered for his involvement in serving on the Brookston Public Library Board for many years and the many opportunities where he served his church, the Federated Church of Brookston.

A "Celebration of Life" on his birthday will be shared starting with a visitation on January 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until his funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Federated Church of Brookston. Pastor Dave Doles and Rev. Dr. Leland McReynolds officiating. Burial at IOOF Cemetery in Brookston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's memory to the Brookston Sleep in Heavenly Peace Chapter, of which he was a core founding member.
