Joan Arlene Abbott, 80 of 73450 Pine Valley, Dr., Thousand Palms, California died at 5:58 a.m on February 6, 2023, at home.  She was born September 17, 1942 in Carroll County, the daughter of the late John & Josephine Archibald Sneathen. Her marriage was to David A. Abbott in Delphi on Sept 17, 1960, and he proceeded her in death on April 23, 2001.  She was a Special Education teacher at Delphi High School, Veal Barn proprietor and owner of D&J Antiques in Silver Lake, Indiana.  A 1960 graduate of Delphi High School.  She enjoyed Antiquing, flea markets, garage sales, mushroom hunting, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She dearly loved her husband and family.  Surviving:  Daughter - Melissa L. Hull-White of Palm Springs, California; son - Scott A. Abbott, Yellow Springs, Ohio; sisters, Darlene Heffley of Ockley and Diana Woollen of Lafayette; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband David, a son Jeff, a grandson Taylor and a brother.

Her committal service will be held at Ever Rest Memorial Park near Logansport, Indiana on May 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Delphi, Indiana on May 20, 2023, at the Wabash & Erie Canal Center, 1030 N.
