Joan M. Milburn Martin, 96, who lived near Burrows, passed away Wednesday-August 3, 2022, at 4:30pm at her residence, after a brief illness. She was born October 29, 1925, in Carroll County near Burlington, to the late Basil & Ethel Bock Milburn. Her marriage was to Robert A. Martin, on her parent's farm in Cass County, on September 1, 1945, and he preceded her in death on August 12, 1985. She attended Logansport High School. She worked at J.C. Penney and the former H.W. Gossard, both in Logansport for several years. She also was a farmer's wife, and helped her husband on their farm, raising cattle, hogs, and grain. She was a member of the Burrows Presbyterian Church, and also attended the Rockfield Presbyterian Church. She was a 52-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Camden Chapter 475, and the Liberty Belles Home Ec Club. She and her husband wintered in Bradenton, FL, for many years, meeting countless new acquaintances, that became good friends. Joan loved to put out a big garden, and enjoyed her many flower gardens around her home, and keeping her yard mowed just right. A true people person, she loved striking up a conversation with someone she knew or was meeting for the first time. She dearly loved her family and grandchildren, and the family gathering they would share. Surviving: son-David & Kay Martin of Delphi, son-Phillip & Teresa Martin of Delphi; daughter-Barbara & Chris Harrell of Ethridge, TN; sister-Roberta Elliott of Lucerne; 6 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by an infant son; sisters Marjorie Crume, Hilda Redding, Betty Farrer, Martha Sharp, & Bonnie McGill; a brother Bob Milburn. Services: Visitation will be Saturday from 11am until her funeral service at 1pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Pastors John & Sally Gilbert officiating. Burial at Camden Cemetery.
