Joan Brei, 87, of Delphi, passed away Sunday-October 13, 2024, at 2:55pm, at Carroll Manor Home near Delphi. She had resided there for the past 5 years. Joan was born on October 13, 1937, in Colome, SD to the late Raymond & Anne Lucile King Brei. Joan graduated in 1955 from Norfolk High School in Nebraska. Joan was the office manager for the former Richard Birchler, DDS, in Lafayette for 40 years, retiring from there. She was a member of the Delphi Methodist Church and attended the morning bible study group there. She volunteered for the Carroll County Senior & Family Service Center in Delphi. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilt making, fishing, and was an avid reader. Joan never knew a stranger and loved engaging others in what was going on in their life. Family was everything to her, and she dearly loved them all, and enjoyed being together for any occasion. Surviving: daughter-Cathy A. Myers Henry of Monticello, son-Daniel A. Myers II of Logansport, daughter-Christine & Ashley Tyner of Delphi, 4 grandchildren: Jake, Cami, Kaira, & Kaitlin, 5 great grandchildren: Jake, Ayden, Donovan, Adeline, & Navy. Sister-Janice & Wayne Hebb of Norfolk, NE, sister-Judith & John Francis of Longmont, CO, sister-Joyce & Jim Bowman of DeFuniak Springs, FL. Preceded in death by a son in law Bill, a brother Richard, an inf. sister Jayanne.
Services: Private family graveside service will be Thursday at 11am at Yeoman Cemetery. Rev. Todd Ladd will officiate. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, is assisting the family with arrangements.
