Jerry D. Dill, 66, of rural Delphi, died Tues.-Sept. 15, 2015 at 1pm after an 11 year battle with Parkinson Disease. He was born Oct. 4, 1948, in Lafayette, to Donald Dill, and the late Della Mae Timmons Dill. His marriage was to Rose M. Cleefman in Reynolds, on June 10, 1967, and she survives. He was 1966 graduate of Twin Lakes High School in Monticello, and attended Purdue University in West Lafayette. He worked for 40 years at Long Electric in Lafayette. Doing commercial electrical work at Purdue, and the area hospitals, and was a foreman in his later years for the company. He was a member and elder at First Baptist Church in Delphi, where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. He was very active and involved in his church, and loved all of God's people. He was a member of the IBEW Local #668 of Lafayette. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed writing poetry. He loved bird watching, and living on the river, enjoying all of the good Lord's creation. He had a great sense of humor, and loved to laugh. He dearly loved his wife and daughter, father, brothers, and his mother in law, all extended family and friends and his church family. Our loss is his gain as he is reunited with his Lord and Savior Jesus. Surviving: wife-Rose M. Dill of Delphi; daughter-Angela M. Dill of Lansing, MI; father-Donald Dill of Monticello; brothers-Wayne & Elaine Dill of Huntingburg, & Raymond & Sue Dill of Holland, MI; mother in law-Betty Terry of Lafayette. Preceded in death by a infant son Michael. Services: Friends may call Thursday from 5-8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Funeral service Friday at 10am at First Baptist Church-Delphi, Pastor Bill Glenn & Justin Darling officiating. Burial at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds.
