"Jan" Wilson Gibson
September 23, 1950 – June 4, 2022
Janet Elaine Gibson of Flora, IN, entered fully into the presence of the Lord on Saturday , June 4, 2022, at the age of 71. She had been in declining health for the past 2 years. Jan was born on September 23, 1950, in Kokomo to the late James and Betty Wilson. She was a graduate of Kokomo High School in 1968. Her marriage was to Paul Curtis "Curt" Gibson, at his parents' home, rural Monticello, on October 4, 1997, and he survives. She served as an Administrator for long term care facilities, including opening St Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi where she worked for more than 25 years. During her time as Administrator in Delphi, she also started home health services and hospice care services for St Elizabeth Hospital in Carroll County and surrounding counties. She retired from Chase Center in Logansport in 2013. Jan belonged to and served on several local and state committees for aging and long-term care services, as well as volunteered for many local organizations in Carroll County. She was a beloved member of Mount Hope Church in Lafayette. She enjoyed planting flowers in her garden, traveling, and spending quality time with family, especially her many grandchildren. Jan is survived by her husband Curt Gibson, her sister Sharon Wood (Jeff), her brother Jim Wilson (Sue) and children: Mike Courtney (Jennifer), Rev. Bryan Courtney (Tiffany), Amber Banks (Seth), Keristen Marley (Brent), Katrina Scagnoli (Tim), and Brandon Murphy, as well as 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her in laws Tom & Jane Gibson. Visitation will be Monday, June 13 from 11am until her funeral service at 1:00pm, at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., in Delphi. Her son Rev. Bryan Courtney will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, envelopes available at the funeral home.
