James L. "Jimbo" Robinson, 72, of Delphi, passed away Saturday-December 31, 2022, at 11:42am, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. He had been a resident there since October of 2022 and in failing health. He was born June 10, 1950, in Williamsport, to the late James E. & Ellen Maxine Brier. He was a 1968 graduate of East Tipp High School. He worked at Purdue University for 12 years, in the nitrogen warehouse. He also was a self-employed carpenter doing construction and remodel jobs in Delphi and surrounding communities. He was a member of the Delphi American Legion Post 75, West Lafayette Post 492 Sons of the American Legion, and was a past commander, and the Lafayette VFW. He was a founding member of the Tippecanoe River Rat Club. He enjoyed boating, fishing, river activities, mushroom hunting, country drives, and a cold Busch Light. Surviving: daughter-Lorie Robinson Shaneyfelt of Americus, daughter-Jamie Weirauch of Battle Creek, MI, sons-Chris & Tammy Sims of West Point, Lorin Robinson of Monticello, Jimmy Weirauch of St. Johns, MI, brother-Mike & Judy Boatman of Lafayette, sister-Jamie Robinson Wray of Delphi, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren survive. Preceded by a sister Vicki Reed. A memorial service for Jim will take place on Sunday-January 22, 2023, at the American Legion Post in West Lafayette, from 2pm to 5pm. A celebration of Jimbo's life will take place this summer, one last trip down the Tippy.
