James Lee Diehl was born January 31, 1936, near Beaver Dam, Maryland, to C. Merklin & Alice Fisher Diehl. He peacefully passed this life at his home near Delphi, on December 17, 2025, making his sojourn here 89 years, 10 months, & 17 days. He called for the anointing as his health declined, which gave him great comfort. Feeling the need for a Savior, he was baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church. With due respect to his beliefs and his heritage, he felt to become a part of The Old German Baptist Church to which he remained faithful until death. On November 16, 1958, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Jean Flora and together they enjoyed over 67 years of marriage. This union was blessed with 4 children, Susan (Philip) Hess, Beth (Verlin) Skiles, Doug (Karen) Diehl, & Rebecca (Abraham) Bauman, 28 grandchildren, 97 great grandchildren, brother John (Anna), sister Ruth Kelly, brother and sisters-in-law Kay Flora, Betty Beery, Julia Flora, Clayton (Peggy) Flora. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Mose (Ruby) Flora, 2 sisters Virginia (Elmer) Flory, Helen (Richard) Martin, 3 brothers-in-law Gerald Flora, James Beery, & Dennis Flora.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1pm to 5pm, dinner break, then 6pm to 8pm, at the Deer Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church, near Camden. His funeral service will be there on Sunday at 10am, home brethren officiating. Burial at Wise Cemetery, near Camden.
