Iris "Dawn" Witter, 85, of Lafayette, IN passed away on November 1, 2024, at IU Arnett Hospital. She was born September 22, 1939, to Russell and Donabelle (Chapman) Flora of Flora, IN. She was a 1957 graduate of Flora High School and went on to attend both IU Kokomo and Purdue University.  She met the love of her life, Jerry, in 1957, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage this past July. A musician and pianist, Dawn soloed with the Lafayette Symphony twice, as winner of the Keller Competition and later as a guest artist. She also taught privately and was a member of the Indianapolis and West Lafayette Matinee Musicales for more than 50 years. She frequently served as a church accompanist, and one of her greatest joys in life was accompanying her three children, whether on clarinet or violin. Dawn was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She cherished time spent with her family, including birthdays, holidays, and attending her grandchildren's events. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. Throughout her life, Dawn found great comfort and peace through her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Her resilience and strength were a testimony of such faith.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Jerry Witter, her brother, Donovan Flora; her children, Doug (Amanda), Brad (Heather), and Danae; her grandsons Michael, Erik, Joseph, Benjamin, Evan, and Cody; her granddaughters Eliza, Harper, and Stella; and her great-grandsons August, Milo, and great-granddaughter Amelia.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9th from 11am-1pm at Evangelical Covenant Church (3600 South 9th Street, Lafayette, IN). Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1pm. The burial will take place at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, is assisting the family with arrangements.
