H. Jane Goslee Smith, 100, of Delphi, passed away at 4:20am, Monday-January 3, 2022, at Creasy Springs Health Campus in Lafayette. She was born November 28, 1921, in Carroll County, to the late Orville & Mary Viney Goslee. Her marriage was to Charles "Alex" Smith, at the former Delphi United Methodist Church in Delphi, on July 17, 1939, and he preceded her in death on January 4, 1985. Jane was a 1939 graduate of the former Monticello High School. She was a homemaker, and helped her husband in their insurance business, in the office. She also was a clerk at the former Beesley's Department Store in Delphi. She was a longtime member of the Delphi United Methodist Church, belonged to the Love Circle, was a former treasurer, and helped with the Rotary meals, and other dinners the church would host. She enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to several bridge clubs. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, and always raised a big garden, and had many beautiful flower beds around her home. She enjoyed being outside, and loved yard work, and keeping her property manicured. Her greatest love was for her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed being with them for any occasion. Surviving: daughter-Alexis & Douglas Glowe of Rochester Hills, MI; son-Charles Steven & Judy Smith of Delphi. 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter Caren Burton; an infant brother Gerald, a sister Freda Barlow; 3 brother's Reed, Don & Jack Goslee. Services: Visitation will be Friday from 11am until her funeral service at 1pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Her grandson Brad Burton will officiate. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery, Delphi. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphi United Methodist Church, Carroll County Cancer Association, or the American Heart Association, envelopes available at the funeral home.
