Guy David Seele, 86, of Rockfield, peacefully passed away at his home Friday-February 12, 2021 at 1130pm, surrounded by his loving family. He had battled cancer since May 2020. He was born in St. Louis, MO, to the late Louis & Alma Pavey Seele. His marriage was to Martha L. Emmitt in Delphi, on July 12, 1958, and she survives. He graduated from English High School in English, IN, and attended IN Business College in Indianapolis. He was an Iron worker for over 30 years, Local #379, working on projects all over the State of IN, SIA, CAT, Home Hospital in Lafayette, Chrysler in Kokomo, and GM of Ft. Wayne. He also taught 1st year apprentice classes for new hires. He then started Seele Monument Shop in Rockfield for 30 years, and his sons are continuing on with the business. He was a Veteran in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956, stationed in Japan. He and his family attended the Rockfield Christian Church. He was a member of the Camden American Legion, and was a longtime volunteer fireman for the Rock Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid reader, and loved to draw and sketch. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis in his younger years. He dearly loved his family and spending time with them and his grandchildren. Surviving: wife-Martha L. Seele of Rockfield; daughter-Catherine Podemski of Rockfield; sons-Mike D. Seele of Delphi, and James & Emanny Seele of Lafayette; grandchildren: David & Jessica Wiles, Brandy Wiles, Krista Brown, April Jennings, Nathan & Laken Seele, Emma & Doug Varys, Hanna & Mason Hill, Logan Seele, Naya Yates, Faith Shackleferd. Brothers-Joseph & Sandra Seele of Lafayette, Franklin & Debra Welch of Flora; 16 great grandchildren survive. Services: Private family services will take place Tuesday at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Pastor Gail Hiner officiating. Burial at Rockfield Cemetery.
