After retiring from the catering business, she enjoyed working part-time in Flora at the J-Ann Shop. She was a member of the Living Faith Church of the Brethren, near Flora, where she taught Sunday school, was active with the women's fellowship, and enjoyed helping in the kitchen with the many meals the church would provide for their congregation and fund raisers.
