Freda I. Best Everett, 92, of Delphi, passed away Saturday-May 27, 2023, at 1:35am, at St. Anthony Healthcare Center in Lafayette. She was born November 21, 1930, in Loudoun Co., VA, to the late John & Alma Harvey Best. Her marriage was to Elmo J. Everett in Delphi, on August 2, 1952, and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2008. Freda attended Poolesville Schools in Maryland. She was a homemaker, and worked for the Delphi Community School Corporation, at all 3 schools at different times, for 17 years, retiring in 1992. She was a very active member of the Living Faith Church of the Brethren. She was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, sang in the church choir, belonged to the Love Circle, and helped make many meals the church would provide to families. She helped deliver meals on wheels and volunteered at our local food pantry. She enjoyed bird watching and deer sighting while out on a country drive. She liked watching old Western movies and camping with her family. She dearly loved her children, grand & great grandchildren and extended family. Being with them for any occasion brought her great joy. Surviving: daughter- Debbie & Jeffery Herron of Delphi, daughter-Allison Everett of Flora, son-Michael & Michele Everett of Camden, sister-Shirley & Don Goyer of Delphi, sister-Lorraine Cockrum of Delphi. 9 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by 3 brother's & 3 sister's. Services: Visitation will be Thursday at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi from 5pm to 8pm. Her funeral service will be Friday at 11am, at the Living Faith Church of the Brethren near Flora. Rev. Guy Studebaker officiating. Burial will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or the Living Faith Church, envelopes available at the funeral home.
