Obituary

Floyd E. Wagoner, 92, of rural Delphi, passed away Saturday morning, Apr. 23, 2016, from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident, in Carroll County. He was born Jan. 7, 1924 in the prairie lands of Surrey County, ND, to the late Jesse & Elizabeth Hufford Wagoner. He moved with his family to Indiana at the age of 12, spending the remainder of his life in the Camden vicinity. He was a member of the Deer Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church near Camden. His first marriage was to Elizabeth Flora, on Sept. 27, 1947, in Flora, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 1954, after 7 years of marriage, due to a lingering illness with leukemia. Two children were born of this marriage; a son, R. Steven & Patricia Wagoner, and a daughter, Freda & Dana Wolf, both of Delphi. On Sept. 14, 1957, he was again united in marriage to Opal Miller, in Bringhurst, and she survives. A daughter was born to this marriage, Joetta S. Wagoner, of Flora. Floyd did carpentry and factory work, retiring from Zinn Kitchen's Inc., Flora, in 1988. He enjoyed gardening, making "something out of nothing" and cracking and picking out nuts, was his retirement pastime. Surviving: wife-Opal Wagoner of Delphi; daughters: Freda & Dana Wolf of Delphi, Joetta S. Wagoner of Flora; son-Steven & Patricia Wagoner of Delphi; 5 grandchildren: Peter Wagoner, Petrina Gascho, Lyndal Wolf, Lyle Wolf, Kristel Wolf; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother-Ezra & Lavon Wagoner of Rossville; sister-Elnora Flora of Englewood, OH; bro-in-law: Amos Flora; sis-in-law: Naomi Jenkins, both of Flora; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Preceded in death by an inf. grandson; 2 brothers Raymond & Calvin; 7 brothers in law; 7 sisters in law. Services: Friends may call Thursday from 8am to 12pm at the Deer Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church, near Camden. A noon meal will be served at the church. Funeral service will take place at 1:30pm Thursday at the church, home brethren officiating. Burial at Musselman Cemetery, Camden.
